This week on the show, we’re continuing our conversation on stress. Are you stressed? Anxious? Upset? I mean, it’s not like we’re dealing with global wars, natural disasters (I’m looking at you, Helene), an upcoming election, inflation, personal health struggles, and fill-in-the-blank. What should we do? What’s the right thing to do? Rather than pontificate, I’m going to drop a verse bomb I came across this week in my personal study:
This is what the Lord says: ‘Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is; and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls’ (Jeremiah 6:16a).
So ??? you’re telling me I’m supposed to ask God what to do and then (wuuut) do it? I’m supposed to trust God’s Word for the “good way”? So simple, friends, but so difficult when I’d rather fret, blame, hand-wring and play the victim.
Let’s do this together this week: Let’s go to God in His Word and in prayer. Let’s ask Him to show up and tell us stuff. When He does (and He will), let’s do it. The promise? We’ll “find rest for [our] souls.” I need it, and I’m pretty sure you do, too.
