Dear Friend,
Only American citizens should be voting in American elections. This isn’t controversial – it’s common sense.
As we approach November and the 2024 election, we are taking action to ensure that only eligible citizens are casting ballots.
In January of 2023, we questioned Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon on the security of Minnesota elections after we received reports of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients, noncitizens living in the United States, voting in our elections. Instead of listening to our concerns and taking action to ensure only eligible citizens are receiving ballots and participating in our elections, the Walz Administration ignored the problem.
Since then, the Walz Administration has passed a number of policies that have the potential to add even more noncitizens and illegal immigrants to our voter rolls. First, the Minnesota Legislature and the Walz Administration passed and signed legislation that has enabled automatic voter registration when applying for state-issued identification, like driver’s licenses. Another piece of legislation that Tim Walz signed and became law allows illegal immigrants and noncitizens to acquire driver’s licenses. Obviously, this has led to problems.
Unsurprisingly, after these laws were passed, we began receiving reports of noncitizens being added to voter rolls and receiving ballots via mail. This isn’t just a minor error; this is a potential crisis that needs to be addressed.
Earlier this week, we led a second inquiry, with House Committee on Administration Chairman Bryan Steil and the entire Minnesota Republican delegation, to Secretary of State Simon and Department of Public Safety Commissioner Bob Jacobson demanding answers on how these noncitizens received ballots via mail, and what steps are being taken to ensure that only eligible Minnesotans are voting in our elections.
As November approaches, we will continue to demand answers from the Walz Administration until we are confident that only eligible citizens are casting ballots in our elections.
Sincerely,
|
