Sneak Peek: Pennsylvania Update
Below is an update we're sending to everyone who adopted Pennsylvania as a top priority state — we're sharing it with you too because of just how important Pennsylvania will be this November. When we launched our “Adopt a State” program last month, our team took guesses on which state would get the most signups.

When the results came in, it was decisive : NDRC supporters wanted to know about what's going on in Pennsylvania.

And for good reason! While the presidential race gets the headlines, the state legislative races are flying under-the-radar as one of the biggest battlegrounds of this election cycle.

Earlier this year, States United Action reported that nearly 1 in 3 members of the Pennsylvania House are election deniers. And when the brave first responders who defended our capitol on January 6th visited the Pennsylvania House, several Republicans booed and walked out. These are some of the same legislators who have blocked common sense measures to improve the lives of the state's citizens, including those related to gun safety.

The MAGA extremists who want to unravel our democracy know that if they're going to be successful, they need Trump loyalists at every level of government. And they think they can catch us flat-footed and Democrats will forget about state legislative seats.

But you're not the type of Democrat who's going to let that happen, and neither are we.

That's why the NDRC has endorsed thirty-three state legislative candidates in Pennsylvania as Democracy Defenders. If we can protect the House Democratic majority AND flip the Republican-controlled state senate, we will achieve another Democratic trifecta — and give us a route to redistricting reform.

We can elect Democracy Defenders in Pennsylvania and across the country — but our ability to make a difference in key races will depend entirely on the resources we have.
