These are tough times for all of us, Friend.
And they are extra tough for Special Olympics athletes -- who just want to put their arms around each other and try to have some fun. But right now they can't. Even the toughest athletes are facing anxiety, isolation, and stress.
We can help, and that is why I am reaching out to you personally tonight. There are just a few hours left in our Giving Tuesday Now match, which means that for every dollar you give to Special Olympics before midnight, The Coca-Cola Company and Toyota will give another.
Can I ask you to DOUBLE your gift right away? I can’t even begin to tell you how important your support is during times like these.
Right now, members of the Special Olympics family can't come together physically. But we can come together in so many other ways.
For some of us, that means cheering on athletes in our homes or over video as they practice and train. For others, it’s ensuring our friends and family with intellectual disabilities get the health care they deserve during this pandemic. And, yes, it also means donating to charity.
It is my goal, and the goal of everyone at Special Olympics, to hit the ground running as soon as we possibly can, in your community and around the world. But we need resources to make sure that happens.
And the deadline to DOUBLE your gift is midnight.
So I am asking:
Will you chip in $10 or more before midnight -- and have it DOUBLED to $20? There are only a few hours left, so please take advantage of this match while it is still live.
Thank you so very much. I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.
Sincerely,
Tim Shriver
Chairman, Special Olympics
