Hi John,
With only a month to go until the November election, care continues to take center stage. Last week, Kamala Harris outlined her economic plan, making it clear how essential—and personal—care is for all of us. In yesterday’s Vice Presidential debate, Tim Walz emphasized how the skyrocketing cost of care is one of the biggest issues facing families today.
It’s up to us to make sure voters know that we need to elect representatives who will fight for care workers and women of color.
Every vote is going to matter in this election, which is why it’s critical that those of us who are passionate about care use our voices to talk to voters this weekend.
Here are some events happening near you and online this weekend – check them out here.
Kamala Harris captured the importance of caregiving in her economic speech last week: “Caregiving is about dignity – and when we lower the cost and ease the burdens people face, we will not only make it then easier for them to meet their obligations as caregivers, we will also make it more possible for them to go to work and pursue their economic aspirations.”
Thank you,
