An Update on USPS Issues in the Massachusetts 7th
Dear Neighbor,
I hope this email finds you and your families safe and healthy. I wanted to provide an update regarding the ongoing issues with the United States Postal Service (USPS) in the Massachusetts 7th Congressional District.
USPS is not simply a mail service – it is a lifeline for so many, particularly in communities like ours. From the delivery of prescription medications and paychecks to keeping us connected with our loved ones, millions of Americans depend on USPS every day to live with dignity.
As your Congresswoman, I have advocated to secure the funding and oversight necessary to restore the integrity of USPS and hold leadership accountable for its performance. I have led calls for necessary reforms that invest in the USPS workforce and restore the standards that guarantee timely delivery for all.
This month, the USPS Inspector General announced an audit to evaluate the efficiency at the Boston Processing and Distribution Center and local post offices following concerns I have raised about issues in our district. If you or a loved one has experienced issues with mail delivery or need to open a casework claim with my District Office, please call (617) 850-0040 or submit your request on my website. I want to make sure your concerns are included in this audit.
The problems with postal service across the Massachusetts 7th are unacceptable. Residents should not experience lost mail or delivery delays of up to four weeks. These issues disproportionately impact our most vulnerable—disabled people, seniors, and low-income families. That is why I have been and will continue actively working with my colleagues at the local, state and federal levels to address these challenges. |
