Families in America already faced a serious childcare crisis before the coronavirus pandemic.

Now, businesses have closed their doors and folks across the country are staying home to slow the spread of the coronavirus — pushing childcare providers and working families to the absolute brink as they deal with this economic burden.

The coronavirus pandemic could destroy America’s childcare system. My good friend, Elizabeth Warren, and I have a plan to stop it from collapsing altogether. As moms, we know there is no issue more important than making sure our kids are taken care of.

That’s why we are calling for a $50 billion investment to stabilize the childcare system, keep providers in business, and ensure parents can go back to work when it is safe to do so.

I’m asking you to join Elizabeth Warren and me in the fight to protect our childcare system and support working families. This is personal for me and I need your help. Add your name today.

As the government provides hundreds of billions of dollars in funding to support small businesses and laid-off workers, we must not forget about our childcare system. Otherwise, we risk the entire system collapsing.

When the time comes, we will not be able to rebuild our economy if this country’s childcare system has collapsed. That’s why we must support our childcare providers throughout this crisis and beyond. It’s the only way to ensure families can access affordable care once the economy reopens.

Thank you, as always, for taking action.
