Rudy Giuliani disbarred in DC as part of 2020 election lies fallout

John, Rudy Giuliani recently lost his license to practice law in DC as a result of his false claims of election fraud.

That is an example of what real accountability looks like.

Giuliani was central to efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, and made inaccurate and unsupported claims to a federal court in Pennsylvania. As a result, he may no longer practice law in DC or New York.

This comes after Rudy Giuliani was ordered to pay $148 million for defaming two Georgia election workers by claiming they mishandled ballots while counting votes in Atlanta during the 2020 election.

This is exactly how our justice system is supposed to work: If you lie about election results in court and defame election workers, you face consequences. It’s as simple as that.

CREW believes that no one, no matter how powerful, is above the law. Not Rudy Giuliani, not Justice Clarence Thomas, not former senator Bob Menendez – and not even presidents.

We’re glad to see that Giuliani is being held accountable, but we know the fight for accountability is far from over. Can you donate to CREW to help us continue our fight for accountability?

Since CREW’s founding in 2003, it has been our mission to fight for an ethical, accountable, and open democracy.

We use aggressive legal actions, in-depth investigations, and innovative policy and reform work to achieve that vision. We take on powerful opponents, and despite long odds, we continue to have victories large and small, thanks to our innovative legal strategies and unrelenting dedication.

Over the years, we’ve taken on many important fights that no other organization was willing to take on:

  • We called on Clarence Thomas and Justice Alito to resign after their ethics scandals.
  • We exposed 10 members of Congress for owning nearly $1.2 million in Big Oil stocks and urged Congress to pass a ban on congressional stock holding and trading.
  • We’ve called on the Senate to investigate Jared Kushner’s use of taxpayer money to travel to the Middle East to help secure a $2 billion investment in his firm from the Saudi government.
  • We called on Senator Bob Menendez to resign when he was convicted for being an unregistered agent for Egypt and using his office to profit.
  • We’ve called out big corporations like Boeing, AT&T, Home Depot, and more for donating millions to support the members of Congress who voted to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

John, we’ve taken on fights at the highest level – and it’s all because of supporters like you.

So if you can, please make a donation to CREW today and help us continue our work fighting for accountability →
