The VP debate was a huge success for the ticket. Now it is time to send MAGA home packing.

VP Debate Recap: Walz Delivers, Vance Dodges, and the Democratic Agenda Shines

John,

Last night's vice presidential debate was a clear victory for Tim Walz and the Democratic ticket. Walz came prepared with facts, policy insights, and a vision for America’s future, while JD Vance spent the night dodging direct questions and clinging to outdated Trump rhetoric. Let’s break down the key moments:

One of the most striking moments was when Walz directly asked Vance if he believed Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. Vance dodged the question, shifting the conversation to censorship—a classic move. Instead of giving a straight answer, he danced around the truth, revealing a lack of accountability that has become all too common in the Republican Party. If Vance can’t even admit the truth about 2020, how can we trust him with the future?

Vance falsely blamed undocumented immigrants for driving up housing costs. Walz, on the other hand, stood grounded in the facts. As studies show, immigrants make up just a tiny fraction of homebuyers (0.1% of mortgages in 2023!). Housing affordability is being driven by far more complex issues like low inventory and pandemic-era trends. Walz made it clear that Democrats are focused on real solutions—not scapegoating vulnerable communities.

Vance claimed he never supported a national abortion ban—another falsehood. Walz reminded viewers that Vance previously stated he “wanted abortion to be illegal nationally.” Now, conveniently, Vance is deferring to Trump’s state-by-state approach. The Democratic ticket, in contrast, has been unwavering in its commitment to protecting women’s reproductive rights.

When the conversation shifted to climate disasters, it was obvious Walz was in his comfort zone. He showcased the Democratic commitment to tackling climate change head-on, while Vance continued to deny the realities we face. Walz’s command of the issue further solidified his position as the VP candidate ready to lead on the most pressing challenges of our time.

Vance tried to sell Trump’s economic policies as the pinnacle of take-home pay, but the data speaks differently. Under Biden, real disposable income hit record highs in March 2021 and has been on a firm upswing. Walz highlighted this clear win for American families, while Vance failed to provide a compelling vision for how a return to Trump-era policies would benefit everyday Americans.

This debate has made one thing clear: the Democratic ticket, led by Tim Walz, is ready to build on the progress we've made and tackle the challenges ahead. With Vance dodging questions, flip-flopping on issues, and pushing false narratives, it’s clear that a Trump-Vance administration would only take us backward.

Now it’s up to us to keep the momentum going. Let’s continue to mobilize, get the word out, and remind voters what’s at stake. The future of our country depends on it.
