John, my beautiful butterfly Dylan was the glue that held our family together. He was pure love.

I do this work to honor my baby boy, but I don't want to be the person sharing my story and consoling another parent the next time a school shooting happens.

I don't want there to be a next time.

I know there's so much going on right now. But I also know all too well what's at stake if we put off this work – more precious lives like Dylan's. Every day we waste, more children are at risk both at home and when they return to school. I won't accept that.

That's why we must reach our $50,000 #GivingTuesdayNow fundraising goal to prevent the next tragedy before it happens.

I know there's a lot on all of our minds right now during this pandemic, but the work we do through Sandy Hook Promise is still urgently needed. Social isolation has put children at increased risk of suicide, depression and abuse, and we've seen an uptick in tips to our Say Something Anonymous Reporting System about children whose lives are in immediate danger.

I don't want anyone else to join this terrible club of families who've lost a loved one to gun violence. Our programs can prevent the next tragedy before it occurs – so this club stops growing, so more precious lives are saved.
