Welcome to the latest edition of the World Land Trust (WLT) eBulletin. We not only have a visual feast for you in this issue – thanks to our forthcoming photography exhibition by David Bebber and a new project to save the stunning Sarus Crane – but we also hope to pique some of your other senses at this weekend’s Birdfair. ** A Multi-Sensory Celebration at the Birdfair
------------------------------------------------------------

Meet the World Land Trust team at this year’s Birdfair (16-18 August at Egleton Nature Reserve, Rutland Water). As well as learning about our conservation projects, you will be able to experience the tropics by smelling evocative scents and listening to unique sounds from three rainforest destinations. Also on our stand, Puro (long-term WLT supporters and Fairtrade advocates) will be serving delicious, aromatic coffee.

The Birdfair has become the Birdwatching Glastonbury and we’re delighted to be hosting the main event on Saturday evening when WLT celebrates its 30th anniversary ([link removed]) with an exclusive premier screening of Three Decades of Conservation in Sir David Attenborough’s Own Words. There will also be a chance to hear Nick Baker and Bill Oddie championing their favourite wild places. Simon Barnes will explore our latest project in Kenya; we’ll hear from our partners in Ecuador, then round off the night with African drumming – all compered by Simon Watt of the Ugly Animal Preservation Society. Plus, on Friday afternoon, Chris Packham will be signing copies of his new book at the WLT stand. We look forward to seeing you there!
