Dear Friend,

As many in our region know all too well, a series of tornadoes and severe storms swept through North Texas last October, leaving catastrophic damage across our communities. Now, months later, some of our neighbors are still picking up the pieces and awaiting help, as they struggle to rebuild their homes and businesses.
This issue has been a top priority for me. In January, I sent a letter to the Trump Administration urging swift approval of a request for disaster relief funds that Governor Greg Abbott submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Unfortunately, last month, the request was denied.
Now, I am leading with a bipartisan group of my Texas colleagues to support Gov. Abbott’s appeal of FEMA's decision. Our cities, schools and businesses need our help, and I will keep fighting for our community to get this assistance. You can read the letter here.
As the storms heavily impacted neighborhoods in the 32nd District, I know how much North Texans need assistance. And with the COVID-19 crisis furthering economic damage to our region, we cannot wait any longer.

As your representative, I will do everything I can to support this appeal, and keep fighting so North Texas can be made whole.
If you need help or have questions regarding storm recovery resources, I encourage you to call my office in Richardson at (972) 972-7949. It is an honor to represent the 32nd District of Texas, where I was born and raised.
Sincerely,
Colin Allred Member of Congress
