350 Chicago has joined the Climate Safe Pensions Illinois (CSPI) coalition! Formed to advocate for divesting Illinois' state pension funds from fossil fuels, we need volunteers to help with certain tasks to accomplish our goal.  

CSPI is an umbrella coalition of 350 Chicago, The Climate Reality Project Chicago, and Third Act Illinois; we’ve combined to increase our effectiveness in advocating for the policy of fossil fuel divestment in the state of Illinois.

We’re forming four different subcommittees to: reach out to state legislators and policy makers, rally potential allies and organizations to support the divestment campaign, contact and meet pensioners and pension boards of trustees, and recruit unions to join the coalition.

We’re seeking volunteers for these outreach committees:

• Legislators

• Allies and Organizations

• Pensioners and Boards of fund Trustees

• Unions

Additionally, we’re looking for people with skills in graphic design to work on supporting materials.

By joining one of the committees, you can help plan and create strategies and tactics to move the fossil fuel divestment campaign forward in Illinois. This is your opportunity to make a difference!
