It's Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Month!

Dear John,

The U.S. has deported Southeast Asians en masse since the early 2000s with little media attention. Pacific Islanders have been dealing with the highest rates of homelessness on their own homelands compared to settlers. South Asians, especially Muslim communities, have been profiled and targeted by the government for decades. All these issues have become even more severe for trans people among these communities.

Join us for our virtual gathering in honor of Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Month. When the virtual gathering goes live Thursday, all you have to do is tune into our Facebook page. You can also watch our past gatherings here.

We’ll talk through how Asian Pacific Islander (API) communities are being impacted by the novel coronavirus. We’ll lift up the API trans wisdom that helped formulate our Trans Agenda for Liberation. And we’ll demonstrate why it’s crucial that API communities deepen their solidarity with Black folks, Indigenous people, and other communities of color. Spread the word!

Together in the movement,

Kris and the TLC team

P.S. Thanks to hundreds of you together donating what you can during COVID-19, we’ve responded with new levels of direct support, including these virtual gatherings. Today for #GivingTuesdayNow we’re asking supporters to donate to TLC, so we can keep showing up for our trans communities.
