Dear MoveOn member,
In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, entire communities have been "wiped
off the map."^1 And millions of survivors are struggling to get food,
water, and electricity.^2
The mayor of Asheville, North Carolina—which was devastated by
Helene—said, "It's hard to describe the chaos that it looks like. It
really feels like a post-apocalyptic scene."^3
Disasters like Helene are becoming more and more common as global warming
creates the conditions that produce these deadly storms, and this is one
of the worst climate disasters the United States has ever seen. As we
continue to work for clean energy solutions, we must also care for our
communities as they are impacted by the warming world.
World Central Kitchen, the emergency humanitarian aid organization founded
by chef José Andrés in 2010, is on the ground delivering fresh meals and
water in the most devastated areas with the highest need. With many roads
flooded or destroyed, World Central Kitchen is flying in emergency
supplies via helicopter.

possible. Please make a tax-deductible donation of $9 to
help World Central Kitchen continue and expand their lifesaving efforts.
100% of your donation will go directly to World Central Kitchen.
For more than a decade, World Central Kitchen has been on the front lines
of humanitarian disasters in the United States and around the world. And
when disaster has struck, MoveOn members have been right by their side to
help.
For example, when Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine, leaving thousands of
Ukrainian families in harm's way, World Central Kitchen was there to serve
fresh meals to people forced to flee the invasion. MoveOn members sprang
into action to help, donating more than $1 million to World Central
Kitchen and United Help Ukraine to support emergency relief efforts.
Now, we must come together once again to help people whose lives have been
destroyed by Hurricane Helene and who are struggling to get their next
meal.

brave humanitarian workers who are risking their lives to provide families
with meals in dangerous conditions by making a $9
tax-deductible donation to World Central Kitchen right now. Whether you
can donate $5 or $500, every cent will help World Central Kitchen continue
to do this important humanitarian work. Please help today.
Thanks for all you do.
