Dear PPADMV Supporter,
In case you missed it yesterday, Planned Parenthood Advocates for DC, Maryland & NoVa (PPADMV) announced our endorsement of three candidates running for office in DC. These candidates seized the opportunity to respond to PPADMV’s questionnaire by unambiguously asserting their commitment to reproductive freedom:
Ward 2 Councilmember
Brooke Pinto

At-large Councilmember
Robert White

DC Shadow Senator
Ankit Jain

Candidates who didn't respond to our questionnaire include Darryl Moch (at-large), Janeese Lewis George (Ward 4), Oye Owolewa (U.S. Shadow Representative), Nelson Rimensyder (U.S. Shadow Senator), Eleanor Holmes Norton (U.S. Delegate), and Myrtle Alexander (U.S. Delegate).
Make no mistake — reproductive freedom is on the line in this election. Stand up for your DC by making a voting plan, finding your nearest polling place, and showing up to vote.
Take it from PPADMV Executive Director Erin Bradley, who says:
“Right now, DC faces one of the most critical moments in its history. Despite widespread opposition to bans on abortion and gender-affirming care, attacks on these basic rights continue to mount. Without statehood, DC is uniquely vulnerable, and some legislators have called for further interference in our self-governance. This election, DC residents must seize every opportunity to protect themselves and those they love. Anti-abortion extremists have pursued their cruel agenda through all means available to them, including exploiting the judicial system. Now, the people of DC must prove at the polls that we will not be cowed into submission. The candidates we are endorsing today will help DC safeguard our rights and protect our communities.”
