John,
This is a longer email than normal, but we hope you’ll take a few minutes to read it.
As with most organizations, this pandemic has caused a significant pivot in our work. COVID-19 was not something that any of us planned for, but we knew that we had a responsibility to step up and use our collective strength as a movement to do everything possible to fight for women, nurses, families, and all working people.
Thanks to all of you, and our ability to act quickly, we’ve been able to shift our work drastically to respond to this moment. We’ve successfully pressured our elected officials to roll back abortion restrictions, demanded corporations to protect their workers, coordinated direct support for essential workers, and trained thousands of volunteers to sew masks for their communities.
Before we share the rest of our collective accomplishments, will you chip in $5 in honor of #GivingTuesdayNow so we can not only continue this work, but also defeat Trump in November?

The Women’s March team has dedicated ourselves to responding to every challenge that arises from the COVID-19 crisis.
Here are just some of the things we’ve been able to accomplish:
- Through our #MaskUp project, thousands of Women’s Marchers have pledged to make and distribute more than 120,000 masks to date.
-
More than 5,000 people have attended our weekly workshop webinars with topics ranging from “How to talk to your kids about COVID-19?” to “What is a Feminist Green New Deal?” to spotlighting the campaigns of organizations like National Nurses United.
-
We've trained over 150+ volunteers as part of our Digital Defenders program, and we have over 1,000 sign-ups for our next training which begins this week.
- We launched a Women2Women census to gather input on the activities, needs, and desires of our movement. We had over 14,000 responses with over 5,000 people signing up to take action during COVID-19.
-
We gathered hundreds of thousands of signatures calling on Congress to protect nurses, pass an Essential Workers Bill of Rights, and enact universal Vote by Mail.
We don’t need a holiday to know that there’s a dire need for all of us to step up and help our communities and neighbors as much as we can, but it’s a crucial reminder that we can accomplish a lot of good when we work together.
One Women’s March supporter, Berta Gutierrez, from Katy, TX wrote to us saying:
“Please, you need to put the full weight of your power to make Congress include in their financial bill aid directly to the people and not to financial institutions as they did the last time.”
We fully agree. We know that families are struggling tremendously already and many have lost all of their income entirely.
Negotiations for the next stimulus bill are underway, and we want to put the full power of our movement into fighting for #PeoplesBailout that supports people, not giant corporations – but we need your help.
Your support will help us fight like hell to make sure that the next stimulus bill goes directly to the people who need it most, not Trump’s billionaire friends.
Truthfully, we took a gamble investing our time and resources into responding to this crisis and we need to catch up. Our fundraising has taken a dip recently and we need to stay on track to carry out all the activities we had planned before.
We acknowledge that we’re not the only ones being impacted by the pandemic, but it would mean a lot to us if you could help us overcome these challenges if you’re able.
We’re in this together.
