Peggy Flanagan here, Tim Walz’s partner in justice (lieutenant governor). I’ve known Tim for twenty years, and I’m going to let you in on the secret to his success. But first, if you’re proud of Tim’s performance in the VP Debate against JD Vance, will you split a donation of $7 between Hold the Line and the DLGA right now?
OK, here’s the secret…
He really is that kind.
The compassion, joy, and authenticity that Tim Walz brings to our politics just can’t be faked. I can confirm the Governor even carries around a bottomless bag of snacks to share!
But his kindness goes far beyond snacks: there is no one Tim Walz can’t connect with.
I learned that firsthand when he walked into Camp Wellstone, the three-day training I was leading teaching political newcomers how to run for office.
Tim walked in wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and sneakers: the very picture of a rural-raised Mankato veteran and football coach. I was a 25-year-old Native American woman raised in the burbs, sporting pink suits and beaded earrings. We couldn’t have come from more different places, or be living more different lives.
But Tim Walz started asking me questions, and we struck up a friendship that has lasted decades.
Years later, when he asked me to be his running mate and lieutenant governor, he told me it was important that our state had both of us in leadership because we bring different experiences and points of view to the table. That’s the type of man Tim Walz is, and the type of leader we need in the White House.
The VP Debate has shown us two versions of America’s future: division, or unity. This November we can elect JD Vance — who says he’s “disturbed” by teachers who don’t have their own children — or we can elect Tim Walz, a beloved teacher who has been a role model for hundreds of students.
I know I’m ready to send Tim Walz to the White House this November — are you? If you’re on the Walz Wagon, please split a donation between Hold the Line and the DLGA before midnight to help us turn out Democratic voters this November! »
If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be processed immediately and split evenly between Hold the Line PAC and the Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association.

Sincerely,
💙 Peggy Flanagan
Lt. Governor of Minnesota & proud friend of Tim Walz
P.S. If you’re wondering what’s in the snack bag, the staples are Nutter Butters and cheese curds. 😉
