For almost 50 years, the Roe v. Wade decision provided federal protections for abortion access.

But in recent years, decisions from federal courts have opened the floodgates for states to ban abortion — creating a national health crisis.

The Constitution didn't change. The strong, nationwide majority support for abortion rights didn't change (in fact it grew!). What changed: abortion opponents' weaponization of our federal courts.

Some of the most aggressive attacks we face — on everything from medication abortion to emergency care to gender-affirming care — are moving through the federal courts. And far too many judges and justices are openly hostile to our rights. That means our federal courts are not operating as they should. But we can change that.
