We're blown away.
Together, we generated 626 calls on Friday to the American Hospital
Association, demanding they do more to protect nurses and secure the PPE
we desperately need.
Based on the call reports, it’s clear that our message was heard loud and
clear. We overwhelmed the phone lines, with hundreds of you getting
through and expressing your concerns directly. Some even reported that the
AHA staff said they had received “hundreds of calls.”
In addition, nurses held actions at 162 medical facilities across the
country in honor of May Day to demand the protections we need to keep us
and our patients safe during this pandemic. Ahead of Nurses Week, nurses
rallied outside hospitals, marched together on our bosses, and wore
stickers to demand the PPE we need to stay safe.

ignore. Can you help keep up the momentum and amplify these actions by
sharing some of the best photos from May Day on social media?

This is a big week ahead. Not only is it Nurses
Week, but it’s also our next opportunity to demand protections for nurses
in the next stimulus bill as negotiations in Congress are underway.
If Friday taught us anything, it’s that despite not being able to gather
in large numbers, we have tremendous power when we come together. If each
of us just takes a few minutes to pick up the phone, we can have an
enormous impact.
We’ll be in touch in the next few days about ways you can help keep up the
pressure on key U.S. Senators in the crucial moments leading up to the
vote on the next stimulus bill.

on May Day to keep up the momentum and show our strength.
With determination,
National Nurses United
