Brothers and Sisters:: I’m writing to you from my bomb shelter. On this eve before one of the holiest days of the year, Rosh Hashanah, Israel is under siege.
To be frank, we just don’t know the full extent of the damage at this point but it’s scary. What we do know is that people are injured, and the Israeli civilian security forces are in dire need of more medical supplies. G-d willing, in just 24 hours from now, we will be able to celebrate Rosh Hashanah in joy and peace. But the reality, the war is escalating, and we must worry that more missiles will be launched against the people of Israel while so many of our brave IDF soldiers are still seeking to recover hostages in Gaza and others are clearing out Hezbollah tunnels on the Lebanon border. While we face this multi-front war, I’m asking you to dig deep and help God’s children who are under attack. Mentally, we want to prepare for the holiday, but the fear of another imminent attack is all-consuming. Let us pray for peace and security in 5785, but let us ensure Israel’s security forces have all the supplies they need during this catastrophic attack by supporting our Israel Emergency Fund.
