John,

Governor Tim Walz has been a fair maps champion for years — and in 2018 and 2022, we endorsed him as a Democracy Defender.

Tonight, he’ll take the debate stage as our vice presidential candidate to defend things like affordable health care, strong voting and reproductive rights, and common sense gun safety measures.

When you chip in to help elect this year’s Democracy Defenders, you are not only helping ensure victory for pro-democracy leaders in key races this November — you are also helping elect our party’s future leaders who will be on the front lines protecting and strengthening our fundamental freedoms.

Can you make a donation right now to help elect pro-democracy leaders in key races across the country? [[link removed]]

Governor Walz and the Minnesota Democratic trifecta are a great example of the progress we can achieve when we have maps that enable voters to elect leaders who share their values.

Under Governor Walz’s leadership, the Minnesota state legislature has passed historic legislation to expand voting rights, protect reproductive freedom, secure paid family and medical leave, and more.

And as a former geography teacher and all-around fair maps champion, Governor Walz knows that maps matter. He recently said this about how maps inform public policy decisions:

“The end product of these maps is a more sustainable economy, a more sustainable environment, and [the] lifting up of people’s lives in a way that they can thrive.”

Democracy Defenders — of both the past and present — get it: Fair maps will hold the line against MAGA policies and represent the will of the people.

With your support, our 2024 class of pro-democracy leaders will win in November and continue strengthening our party up and down the ballot. (Who knows — maybe even one of our 2024 endorsees will end up on the presidential or vice presidential debate stage one day.)

Please chip in right now to help ensure Democracy Defenders get the votes they need to win in November. Your donation is critical to sustaining this democracy-saving work across the country. [[link removed]]

The stakes are far too high to stand on the sidelines.

Thank you,
Team NDRC
