Friend — I want to be upfront with you regarding something alarming happening right here in Florida.

On Election Day, control of the Senate and who we send to the White House won't be the only things on the ballot. In Florida, we'll vote on an amendment to enshrine the right to abortion into our state constitution — thereby overturning Rick Scott's extreme abortion ban.

But here's the disturbing part: State police are showing up to Floridians' homes and interrogating them about their support of a petition that paved the way for this constitutional amendment ballot initiative.

As a child, I lived under a South American dictatorship with my mother and three older sisters. I remember the strongman tactics of an authoritarian regime — and Ron DeSantis is replicating those tactics here in Florida.

Nobody's political beliefs should be questioned by authorities. And let's call out DeSantis' playbook for what it is: State-sanctioned voter intimidation, all in the name of eviscerating reproductive freedom.

It's obvious why they are resorting to authoritarian tactics. DeSantis and my opponent Rick Scott — who supports a nationwide ban on abortions — know voter turnout is going to skyrocket in support of protecting reproductive rights.

These are precisely the voters we need to reach, speak with, and mobilize in support of our campaign because we share their values of freedom, opportunity, and the right to start a family when and how they choose — not when and how politicians like Rick Scott or Ron DeSantis say.

But to win, to protect reproductive rights and defeat Rick Scott, I must hit my critical $500,000 fundraising goal before midnight. That's why I'm counting on you, more than ever, to give now.

Please, rush a donation of $5 — or whatever you can spare before my urgent midnight deadline — so we can restore reproductive freedom in Florida, defeat Rick Scott, and protect our Democratic Senate majority!
