*Wyoming Expands Second RIDE Cohort and Launches Updated Website*
CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Mark Gordon is excited to announce the expansion of the second cohort of school districts participating in the Reimagining and Innovating the Delivery of Education (RIDE) pilots, alongside the launch of an updated website [ [link removed] ] to share information about this important initiative and the Wyoming’s Future of Learning Partnership.
As we enter the new school year, 20 school districts are actively engaged in the RIDE education pilot programs, with nine school districts continuing into their second year. Each district is developing a tailored approach that aligns with the unique needs and aspirations of their communities, focusing on four key areas: competency-based learning; flexible pathways; personalized learning; and student choice.
“I want to salute all the Wyoming educators who are embracing the opportunity to give our students more choice in their educational journey,” Governor Gordon said. “I am eager to hear how each district collaborates to ensure students, parents, and communities have a voice in shaping their education and preparing for the future.”
Wyoming’s Future of Learning reflects the collaborative efforts between Governor Mark Gordon, Superintendent of Public Instruction Megan Degenfelder, the Wyoming Department of Education, the State Board of Education, the University of Wyoming College of Education, the Wyoming Community College Commission and the Wyoming Association of School Administrators.
To support the pilot districts, the collaborative is offering two free virtual learning sessions for all Wyoming students, teachers and district leaders. On October 8, "Student Centered Policy" will explore how recent policy shifts in Wyoming are paving the way for more student-centered practices, providing actionable steps for implementation at both school and district levels. On October 10, the first session of a three-part series on developing or enhancing a Work-Based Learning (WBL) program will be offered.
