Climate change has gotten so bad…. That even the Arctic is burning! Take a look:
You know it’s bad when areas of the planet that are meant to be freezing cold are now billowing with wildfire smoke. This is a red alert about how quickly climate change is accelerating and a stark reminder about why we need to take action now before it’s too late.
The prevalence and intensity of Arctic wildfires has increased dramatically in recent years - as the Arctic warms faster than any other location on earth. These wildfires move underground, burning low and slow through stored carbon reserves - creating a feedback loop that accelerates climate change.
These wildfires only intensify climate change through releasing stored carbon into the atmosphere and destroying forests. We must act now.
