John, it's Congressman Hank Johnson, and I want to reach out with a little bit of news:
Yesterday, the Superior Court of Fulton County struck down the Georgia abortion ban.
The "trigger law" passed back in 2019, with only Roe v. Wade blocking it from being enforced and preserving the right to reproductive care, until the MAGA Supreme Court overturned it in 2022. Now, Georgians will once again be allowed to access abortion care beyond the earliest weeks of pregnancy.
Though this is a win, we must continue the fight for judicial accountability and reproductive justice for all—that's why I want to say thank you for helping me reach my End of Quarter Fundraising Goal yesterday.
These funds are not only critical to showing the strength of our people-first movement, but they help us actually get the work done. Our democracy is dependent on folks like you and I showing up to that ballot box and making our voices heard—and this month the team and I will be working hard to make sure we get those voters fired up and prepared to act this November.
In service,
Hank Johnson
P.S. My heart goes out to the folks in our district affected by the ongoing BioLab disaster. For updates on the changing situation in Rockdale County, check here: [link removed]
