Given Donald Trump’s advanced age and clear mental and physical decline, his Vice President should receive additional scrutiny. But when seniors look into JD Vance’s background, they won’t like what they see.

JD Vance is close with Project 2025 lead author Kevin Roberts―he even wrote an introduction for Roberts’ forthcoming book-length companion to Project 2025!¹ And Project 2025’s centerpiece involves laying off huge swaths of government employees.

The Social Security Administration is already underfunded. That’s why there’s been such a long wait for people applying for Social Security disability benefits. Yet Vance specifically singles out the Social Security Administration as ripe for layoffs in interviews.²

These layoffs would increase wait times when people call SSA for help, and likely involve additional office closures. They would make our Social Security system weaker at a time when 10,000 people are turning 65 every single day.

Tim Walz, on the other hand, grew up with Social Security survivor benefits. He credits those benefits for keeping his family going after his father died. Walz often says "I'm all for pulling yourself up by your bootstraps, but we didn't have any boots. Social Security was the boots."³

The difference couldn’t be more striking. We need to get this message out in senior centers in critical states and make sure seniors make the right decision this November. Can you chip in to fund our outreach efforts now?
