A liberal activist group funded by Mike Bloomberg is targeting massive resources into Texas to spread false attacks against me and your Second Amendment rights.

Mike Bloomberg is advocating for a policy of draconian background checks for firearm possession. This misleading ad leaves out key facts. Here's the truth:
* This ad would make you believe that no background check system is in place at gun dealerships today, but that is false.
* The policy Bloomberg supports would make it illegal to borrow a gun from family or friends for self-defense. Why would we make criminals out of law-abiding Americans?
* Bloomberg's proposed policy would have to be self-enforced. Do we really believe criminals are going to abide by these laws? Of course not. None of the criminals who carried out the violent atrocities we've witnessed would be stopped by these measures. Criminals purchase their guns illegally on the black market for a reason.
This ad advocates for a policy that would infringe on the Second Amendment liberties of the American people without ever stopping the tragedies we all want to prevent. I support commonsense policies to keep guns out of the hands of criminals who should never have them in the first place. That's the truth.
