Israel is beginning an all-out attack on Lebanon with airstrikes in Beirut. Netanyahu has now even launched a ground invasion.1

CNN is reporting that Israel likely used U.S.-made bombs in its airstrikes on Lebanon2—2,000 pound bombs that Netanyahu’s regime has used in Gaza too. Netanyahu is blocking a peace deal while ramping up his war against the people of Gaza and Lebanon.

Senator Bernie Sanders just introduced resolutions to stop the “immoral and illegal” $20 billion weapons sale to Israel.3

Sen. Sanders cites how America’s continued funding and weapons support to Israel is a breach of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 and the Arms Export Control Act.4 Because Israel has blocked humanitarian aid from reaching the people of Gaza, American law says military funding for Israel must end. Two federal U.S. agencies even agreed with this finding, but Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the Biden administration rejected the reports.5

Hamas's attacks beginning on October 7 must be condemned but Israel's response has been disproportionate and taken an extraordinary civilian toll — all while America has supplied the bombs and funding Israel has used to kill tens of thousands of Palestinians.

Now is the time to take steps towards ending U.S. support for Netanyahu’s devastating wars on Gaza and Lebanon by passing Sen. Sanders’s resolutions.
