Dear John,
Yes, folks, it’s time for another of our Coffee Klatch podcast specials: Our “Watch-Along” Debate Watch Party for what might be the final big political event in the countdown to Election Day, the Vice Presidential Debate!
Just a few hours from now, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Ohio Senator JD Vance will take the stage and face off with their opposing views concerning the most pressing issues facing the electorate today!
If you’re looking for a Debate Watch Party, look no further! We will offer real-time fact-checking and Coffee Klatch-style commentary. Will Walz make dad jokes? Will Vance say something weird? Will one of them drop an October surprise?
For this special episode, filling in for IMCA executive director Heather Kinlaw Lofthouse will be the talented Gen Z producer-director-techie Michael Lahanas-Calderón, to share reactions and perspectives in real time with me and with you, our faithful fellow Coffee Klatchers!
We will be watching here in our LIVE stream, starting with our pre-show commentary at 8:45 pm ET / 5:45 pm PT, before the debate itself starts at 9 pm ET / 6 pm PT.
What a time we’ve had! First we made it through the first Biden-Trump debate and Trump’s RNC speech, with tens of thousands of fellow Coffee Klatchers and IMCA supporters like you. A few weeks later, we celebrated Kamala’s triumphant performance in her September debate against Trump.
Through all the ups and downs, we’ve laughed and cried, commiserated and celebrated, and managed to keep our spirits up!
Now with the Walz-Vance debate, the time has come to see how these candidates express their visions for the country, with vivid split-screen contrasts, as they each try to make their case and close the deal with undecided voters.
After this, it’s a few short weeks to the big day, November 5 -- the last day of voting -- when one way or the other, history will be made.
But this much we know: No matter how many childless cat ladies or unfounded rumors about cats and dogs are unleashed in tonight’s debate, it will be better for us to watch together and provide each other with much needed support!
Join us LIVE right here! We can’t wait!
