My name is Victor, I am a Venezuelan immigrant, and Project 2025 scares the sh*t out of me.
I, along with eight million fellow Venezuelans, have fled our country to escape a severe humanitarian crisis and a repressive authoritarian government. I was granted Temporary Protected Status — something Project 2025 plans on immediately eliminating.
Millions of American families could be immediately torn apart.
The worst part is that Project 2025 also wants to make it easier for ICE to target, racially profile, and terrorize our communities — allowing them to perform raids at our schools, hospitals, and places of worship.
One thing is clear: Project 2025 aims to make our immigrant communities and people of color feel unsafe everywhere — whether at home, work, school, church, or simply walking in our neighborhood.
As a Venezuelan immigrant, I’ve seen firsthand how incredibly difficult it is to restore democracy after it’s lost. I don’t want to see that happen here — but if the authoritarian blueprint that is Project 2025 is enacted, that is where we’ll be.
