Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, was born in 1924 in Plains, Georgia, and has lived a life defined by public service and humanitarian efforts. Married to Rosalynn Carter from 1946 until her recent passing, they raised four children: Jack, Chip, Jeff, and Amy. After his presidency, Carter and Rosalynn co-founded The Carter Center in 1982, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting human rights, democracy, and public health, with notable achievements like the near-eradication of Guinea worm disease and monitoring elections globally. The Carters were also deeply involved with Habitat for Humanity, building homes and advocating for affordable housing.
