Hello John,
Travis here, the Elections Manager for Stewardship Utah, and I want to introduce you to some of the impressive candidates that we are endorsing this election season, starting with Rosemary Lesser [[link removed]] .
Representative Lesser has been serving her Ogden community as a member of the State House for the last four years. Before that, she served her community as an OB-GYN for over 20 years and served in the Air Force for 15 years. While serving in the Legislature, Rosemary has been a passionate advocate for her community, championing bills focused on providing quality education, healthcare, and more.
We recently had the pleasure of talking with Rosemary about her work in the Legislature and Amendment D (did you hear that it’s now void on the ballot?).
When asked why Amendment D was such a massive concern for Utahns, Rosemary explained, “This is incredibly important to me and virtually everyone I have spoken with. It is part of my conversations at the door. Now, it causes me such stress to think about the prospect of this foundational element of the Utah constitution being amended in such a deceitful way that takes away the rights of the people to have their voices heard in a way that they cannot be ignored.”

Rosemary speaking at the Vote Against Amendment D rally early in the summer. As of Wednesday night, Amendment D is officially void on the ballot, meaning that neither votes for nor against will be counted.
Rosemary has been among a handful of legislators from both sides, opposed to this power grab since the beginning. Several legislators have also changed their stance, shifting to being against this amendment after widespread opposition throughout Utah.
Representative Lesser also told us about some exciting work she’s been doing. Partnering with state leaders in math education, Rosemary is committed to ensuring students' success throughout their education. Rosemary is working to get “specialty math coaches in our schools so we can lift all Utah students in their math proficiency.” Rosemary went on to explain, “There’s a huge gender gap in our state that starts as early as third grade, in which girls are about 7 points below boys in math achievement testing.”
Rosemary is excited about Utah's future and looks forward to one day having a more balanced Legislature. She will continue to be a voice for her community, as she believes all legislators should be.
“Being an advocate for the people should be the primary mantra for every member of the Legislature.”
We’re thrilled to endorse Rosemary Lesser and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes.
Onward,,
