Our National Guard troops take an oath to defend our nation, standing ready
to protect our communities when natural disasters strike, infrastructure
fails, and lives are at risk. But today, their critical role here at home
is being compromised.
700 TENNESSEE NATIONAL GUARD TROOPS were just deployed to the Middle East,
as Hurricane Helene left Tennessee and several more states in devastation.
Families, businesses, and entire communities are struggling to recover from
the destruction, yet the very troops who should be aiding in the response
are thousands of miles away, engaged in foreign conflicts.
SUPPORT THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY AND OUR EFFORTS TO BRING, AND KEEP, OUR

This is why we are urging you to support the LIBERTARIAN PARTY’S DEFEND
THE GUARD CAMPAIGN. [4] Defend the Guard legislation would ensure that
National Guard troops cannot be deployed overseas without a formal
declaration of war from Congress.
Our National Guard must be focused on their core mission—guarding our
nation, especially in times of crisis. Hurricanes, floods, wildfires, and
other disasters are becoming more frequent and severe, and we need every
resource available to rebuild and protect our communities.
