Hi John, it’s Carole King 🎶 and I’m personally writing this email in support of Dan Osborn for U.S. Senator from Nebraska.
Dan is a lifelong independent who believes the government should stay out of our bedrooms.
He’s a Navy veteran, a steamfitter, an industrial mechanic, and a union leader. If your car breaks down, Dan’s the guy who’ll stop and make sure you get back on the road.
You may know me as a singer and songwriter, but I grew up in a working family. My father was a firefighter, and my mother was a teacher. And both my parents were problem-solvers, so I know one when I see one.
In Dan’s own words: “I know what it’s like to work a 90-hour workweek. I know what it’s like to go on strike to fight for health care just so your kids can go to the doctor. I know what it’s like to have to drop out of college and kill one of your dreams because somebody’s got to put food on the table.”
And now he’s putting his apprenticeship on hold to run. Let’s support him.
Republican megadonors don’t hang with people like Dan. They spend millions for ads and billboards to spread lies about him, for example, that he “supports abortion until the moment of birth.”
1. That is not true about Dan Osborn.
2. Women don’t want, nor do we have, abortions “until the moment of birth.” That is not a thing.
3. Sometimes a woman needs abortion care earlier in a pregnancy.
4. Ask any woman who’s ever had to face that decision. It is never made lightly.
The incumbent senator, Deb Fischer, turned her back on women in every zip code of Nebraska when she voted to confirm justices nominated with the specific objective of overturning a woman’s right and freedom to make her own healthcare decisions. And those justices did vote to overturn that right.
Fischer also voted NO on a bill that would have protected and expanded nationwide access to fertility treatment including IVF.
Will you help Dan Osborn earn enough votes to replace Deb Fischer in 2025?
Fischer voted with her party for tax cuts for billionaires while raising taxes for the middle class. Dan Osborn isn’t beholden to either party.
Will you join me in helping Dan reach more Nebraskans with his message of finding common ground and enacting common-sense solutions?
Please use the links in this email to start a weekly donation through ActBlue:
John, programs we count on are at risk if Republicans control the Senate. Republicans actually put their intention to gut those programs in writing.
Medicare. Social Security. Affordable health care. Hunger relief programs such as SNAP, TEFAP, and WIC. Head Start. And the entire Department of Education.
Dan will protect those programs and strengthen public education because he cares about families, seniors, and children wherever they live. He’s not taking PAC money, and Election Day is coming fast, so your donation right now really matters.
I know you’re getting a lot of emails, but so much is at stake in this election. The cruelty cult includes cowards and billionaires, but there are more of US who want to lift and help others. That’s why I’m asking you to take action today.
If we all pitch in $25 or whatever we can afford, your donation will add up with others to elect Dan Osborn to the U.S. Senate.
Will you help Dan’s campaign meet a crucial fundraising deadline tonight?
Thank you for doing your part to make the world safer and kinder and better in all the ways that you do every day. Whatever you do, don’t give up. Let’s do this!
My best to you and your family, always,
-Carole
