Have you heard the outrageous news about draconian changes coming to student debt? Last year, the Biden-Harris administration allowed all pandemic-related student loan relief to come to a crashing halt. But those with student loans were given a year to start their re-payments without the risk of devastating consequences such as default and reporting to credit agencies. Now those payments, which have been accruing interest all year, must be paid - and if they’re not, people struggling with student debt can see their credit scores tanked. This puts their ability to own or even rent a home at risk, and even jeopardizes their job prospects!

We’ve already seen evictions skyrocket to record levels since pandemic-era protections were pulled out from under renters. Now we’re looking at the potential for record numbers of people in student debt - many of them young people - being punished by predatory creditors for nothing more than striving to better themselves and their lives with a higher education. 

Our government never has a problem coming up with billions to pour fuel on the fire of wars around the globe, catapulting us towards WWIII. But when it comes to the needs of the American people, from education to housing to medical care, the Wall Street parties throw us to the merciless “free market”. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Jill and Butch believe that higher education shouldn’t be a privilege for the few; it should be a right for all who seek it. A Stein/Ware administration will cancel all student debt for 43 million Americans burdened by that debt. Jill and Butch will guarantee a free public education for all institutions of learning, including trade schools and Pre-K through college and graduate school. We need to reject the deadly duopoly of war and Wall Street and get out the vote for Jill and Butch.

Friend, we have just over a month to get the word out that the American people have a choice to vote for a ticket that puts human need over corporate greed. Can you dig deep today to make sure that voters everywhere know that they can vote their hopes instead of their fears with Jill and Butch in November?

A better future for our young people is possible, but we need to break out of the constraints of corporate-owned politics as usual to make it happen. We need to build people power with Jill and Butch.
