Hone your debunking skills and help your community in our free webinar |
Flu season is upon us, so join us this Thursday at noon Eastern for a special look at the power journalists can wield when it comes to debunking mis- and disinformation on respiratory illnesses like COVID-19, RSV and the flu, and their vaccines.
In partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Risk Less. Do More. campaign, this free, 90-minute Poynter webinar featuring CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta will help journalists debunk false narratives about vaccines and respiratory illnesses, find out about the common falsehoods that experts are tracking, and access reliable data and legitimate information about vaccination rates and trends in the communities journalists cover.
Our expert panel will also feature Dr. Nirav D. Shah, principal deputy director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with other noted guests.
The webinar is on the record, so you can quote our experts, ask them questions and use their responses in your local reporting.

Poynter thankfully escaped damage from Hurricane Helene last week. However, the storm surge did touch parts of our campus, which as many of you know is located just a few hundred feet from Tampa Bay.
A tape measure next to a tree trunk on campus showed the water rose 27 inches on one side of the building, while part of the foundation on another side saw 13 inches of storm surge.
Thank you from all of us here at Poynter for your texts, emails, calls and well-wishes. We deeply appreciate that you were thinking about us! |
