This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. And like many things right now, it'll look a bit different. I invite you to pause a moment and think of the teachers you know (some might just be stepping into this role for the first time). As we think about the teachers in our lives this week, I want to recognize my mom, Paula Fruci Heck. To me she is the world’s greatest retired middle school teacher and principal.
Growing up, my parents shared the importance of education with me. Mom, from her work as a teacher and Dad from his work on legislative policy. I remember hearing my parents repeat Grandpa Heck's words: “They can take everything from you but your education - so get one!” He would know, he survived the depression.
I am the proud product of public schools, and proud to support a campaign that has never taken money from pro-charter school advocacy groups.
I am humbled by the support our campaign has received from so many incredible teachers from across the state, including my Dad’s junior high football coach! To my mom, my dad's coach, and all the other teachers across our state - thank you for the work you're doing.
Thank you,
Bob
