Someone Needs to Talk to You! Won't You Help Us Phonebank for Woodson and Anna?
|
We're nearing the finish line, and we need YOU to help us phonebank for Anna Thomas and Woodson Bradley! The election is ONLY ONE MONTH AWAY, and we have many, many voters to mobilize!
Won't you join us in making calls to voters in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. It's online, it's easy, and training and handling is a breeze! Come be among friendly people who share your concerns and are taking positive action.
Sign up today to phonebank for both of our candidates on Wednesdays, 6:30-8 pm ET!
Why phonebank? The data proves it: phonebanking is THE BEST volunteering option for remote voter contact. We identify supporters and let them know why their vote matters, speak with undecided voters, and recruit local volunteers.
Each Zoom phonebank includes training and check-ins for first-timers (experienced callers can jump right in). We'll share successes and address questions throughout the session, all while contacting voters in crucial state legislative races. Our veteran phonebank leaders will help you get comfortable, increase your effectiveness, and make sure you have a great experience.
Sign up for one or more phonebanks below!

Don't Miss Joshua Cole at Our October 8 General Meeting!
|
We are pleased to welcome one of our favorite 2023 candidates, Joshua Cole (VA House 65) to our next monthly meeting, October 8! Josh is a Sister District Project alum, and DC Metro Area chapter has supported him in three campaigns, including last year's win.
We will hear from Josh on:
- What it's like to work in the State Legislature, and how the policies he's working on affect the lives of his constituents (and all Virginians).
- How the work we do at Sister District has positively impacted his past campaigns.
Our Zoom meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month starting at 6:30 pm ET, and last for approximately 45 minutes.
If you're new to Sister District DC Metro Area, this meeting will provide you with an introduction to our community. Meet fellow volunteers, learn what we're up to, see how you can take action with us, hear from special guests, and more.
We hope you will be able to join us!

Join us on October 15 for a Conversation with David Daley!
|
We’re teaming up with Sister District National for a virtual conversation with investigative reporter David Daley about his new book, Antidemocratic on Tuesday, October 15 at 7pm ET. The book is a riveting yet disturbing history of the fifty-year Republican plot to hijack voting rights in America, its profound implications for the 2024 election, and the crucial role that Chief Justice John Roberts has played in determining how we vote.
We are excited to engage our community in a conversation about the themes in the book, and how important it is for us to rally the collective troops to vote this year, all the way down the ballot.

Feeling Angry?
CONVERT THAT ANGER TO ACTION!

Our Votes Will Make the Difference in State Elections!
|
Sister District candidates are organizing to GET OUT THE VOTE in key districts in swing states - like, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Arizona, Michigan, Georgia and others. Sister District's research on ballot roll-off shows how important engaging at the legislative district level is, and the TREMENDOUS IMPACT each vote we can get to the polls will have on state-level and national elections. Beyond November, Sister District candidates will be able to advance progressive legislative objectives in the next session of their state legislatures.
State legislative campaigns are constantly overlooked and underfunded. In an ultra-competitive presidential election year, state elections are often won by razor-thin margins.
In 2022, just 63 votes flipped the entire Pennsylvania House of Representatives blue!
Right now, Democrats are leading in state legislative races across the country, but the polls show a dead heat. And unfortunately, Democrats are more likely than Republicans to stop voting after ticking the box for President.
But not this year! Help us Get Out the Vote for Democrats all the way down the ballot!
