First and foremost, let me thank you for bearing with the barrage of FEC deadline fundraising requests.

At this point in the race, our campaign is funded primarily through small-dollar donations, so hopefully you see them as a small price to pay for holding this Senate seat and helping Kamala Harris win in Michigan.

And while I wish I did not have to ask again -- believe me -- that's what I have to do today. Especially with the vice presidential debate tonight.

Now you may be thinking, what does the vice presidential debate have to do with Michigan's Senate race? That's a fair question.

To start, everything that impacts the presidential race also impacts Michigan. A big night for Tim Walz (here's hoping) is also good news for us. A bad night for him, and that's likewise bad news for us.

It would not be the first time a debate had a major impact on this race.

But also, these debates tend to be motivating factors for those who pay close attention. More people volunteer to knock doors on days like this. More people donate as well.

Depending on how the debate goes, it could be good for my opponent. But because we have always received lots more small-dollar donations than he has, I am hoping it can be a big advantage for us.

Voting has started. The election is upon us. And we still have some big goals to reach.
