October 2024

‌

Dear John

We hope this email finds you well and that your school year is off to a smooth start. As we approach October 7, marking a year after the 2023 terrorist attack in Israel, you may be seeking resources to help students and/or family members understand the Israel-Hamas war and antisemitism. Our collection of resources can help guide these potentially challenging conversations with young people.

October is also Bullying Prevention Month and we invite you to join our 10/15 No Place for Hate Virtual Kickoff and Read Aloud event with children's book authors Kathryn Otoshi and Trudy Ludwig. Register below to enter a drawing for a free picture book!

ADL EDUCATION IMPACT

An excerpt from a letter our summer intern, Chloe Lee, wrote about the impact of No Place for Hate in her school:

"No Place for Hate is more than the insides of school building walls. It is special because it gives a space for students to be heard, respected and seen. I never would have noticed the deeper aspects of my peers’ identity had we not felt comfortable and accepted. I would not have shared my struggles with self-acceptance which had burdened me. Vulnerability, as shadowed as it may be in today’s independent society, is a strength, not a weakness. Hearing my peers applaud and relate to one another showed me a new side of empathy, now one of my core values. Understanding is not about a simple pat on the back, but fully listening and lending trust."
