Hello friend,

Today our energy bills will go up AGAIN.

Ofgem, the energy market regulator has raised the price cap, which means our bills will go up to £1,717 a year for the average family, an increase of 10%.

This is terrible news for the thousands of people across the UK who already have huge amounts of energy debt, which has risen by a massive 43% over the last year to a record £3.7bn.

But we know that campaigning together we can push Ofgem and the government to write off this unpayable debt, bring down bills and give people a fresh start.

Add your name to the campaign

Over the past year we’ve made some real progress with the campaign, thousands of people have signed our petition and together we’ve taken our demands for an energy debt write off directly to parliament and Ofgem’s door.

But with the days getting colder and the removal of the winter fuel allowance, it’s more important than ever that we make sure the government hears our demands for action and writes off the huge amounts of debt that have built up during the cost of living crisis.

Junnie from London told us:

“I can no longer afford to operate my stairlift…I have been forced into unpayable debt because of my situation.”
High bills and unpayable debts are having a huge impact on people’s lives. It’s been reported that half of people in the UK are planning on rationing their energy use this winter. Can you add your name to the campaign demanding action?
Yes, I want to sign the petition

The more of us that take action and show we care about this issue, the more likely the government is to act.

Thank you for being a part of this campaign!

Best wishes,

Eva, Wiz, Richard and the whole team at Debt Justice
