John, Cal Cunningham is running to send Thom Tillis packing, and our national partner LCV has endorsed him! Cal would be a breath of fresh air in a U.S. Senate that continues to block climate action and do polluters’ bidding.
With his lifetime 7% environmental score from LCV, Tillis is among the worst of the bunch. He supports Trump’s drive to drill off our coast, and rubber-stamped Trump’s disastrous nominees to lead the EPA and the Interior Department.
Cal’s record stands in stark contrast. He served on the NCLCV board of directors, and is an executive for a company that helps cities reduce their waste. When he was in the state Senate, he sponsored the landmark Clean Smokestacks bill that cut coal plant pollution by over 70%.
This race is going to be expensive, and powerful polluters will stop at nothing to help Tillis. But we have the power to put Cal over the finish line and show those special interests who’s boss.
LCV and partner organizations have created a special page to raise money for Cal’s campaign. When those donations reach Cal, he’ll know they come from dedicated environmentalists like John xxxxxx.
As if electing a better servant for the people of our state weren’t enough: next year, North Carolina holds one of the key races that will determine the balance of power in the entire U.S. Senate. Electing Cal and defeating Tillis would put us one vote closer to having a pro-environment majority. That means progress for the entire country, thanks to what we do here in North Carolina.
Cal will fight for clean air, clean water, and clean energy for all North Carolinians — and all Americans.
