Here’s the situation:

At least 100 people have been reported killed, and, sadly, this number is expected to rise

Millions are without power or access to clean water, causing great health and safety risk

Catastrophic flooding has wiped out homes and major roadways. Entire communities are devastated

Floodwaters from Hurricane Helene wiped out roads and highways in western North Carolina.
As you read this, Americares teams are on the ground in Georgia and Florida – with another team expected to arrive in North Carolina tomorrow – directing medicines and relief supplies to the communities that need them most. We are also providing emergency funding to get health services up and running again as quickly as possible.
But the needs are enormous. First responders and health care workers in the region are continuing to do all they can to help their communities, despite losing everything themselves.
