John,
As the Jewish community gathers across America to celebrate the High Holidays, we are facing a once-in-a-generation surge of antisemitism, and synagogues are uniquely vulnerable.

Tell Congress to support increased funding for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program.
According to the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, faith-based institutions are more susceptible to attacks by violent extremists “due to their symbolism, perceived lack of security, and accessible locations.” Antisemitic incidents rose by 140% in 2023. Additionally, the most recent data from the FBI revealed that while American Jews account for around 2% of the U.S. population, they were the victims of 68% of reported religiously motivated hate crimes in 2023.

Congress must increase funding to this lifesaving program. Take Action with ADL today.
For the past decade, funding assistance from federal, state, and local governments—particularly from the Nonprofit Security Grant Program—has provided crucial support for security hardening and enhancements for our nation’s most vulnerable nonprofit institutions, including houses of worship. Nonprofit security grants are one of the most tangible ways to protect and save lives during this time of great peril. That is why ADL has worked tirelessly to promote funding for this program.

We can’t wait. This Rosh Hashanah, tell Congress to increase funding for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to keep our synagogues safe.
Sincerely,
Carmiel Arbit
