The time is NOW to end weight-based bullying and discrimination.

Hi John,

Each year, we reach out to you, our Community, about childhood weight-based bullying. Sadly, the problem hasn't gone away. Too many children are still facing harassment and discrimination because of their appearance.

Bullying is a serious issue, and it's one that we can't ignore. The fact is 30% of girls and 24% of boys with excess weight report being bullied. That's unacceptable.

The Obesity Action Coalition has been focused on creating a better world for children affected by obesity by bringing awareness to the bias that leads to bullying and by equipping students and their families with the tools and information they need to stand up against harmful treatment. As Childhood Obesity Awareness Month comes to an end, we're asking for contributions that will enable us to continue and expand on this effort.

The donations you provide during this campaign will support our current programs and initiatives and aid us as we continue our commitment to ending the bullying that too many children face.

How we're fighting for children affected by obesity in 2024:

Raising awareness: Educating communities about the harmful effects of weight bias and bullying.

Empowering families: Providing resources and support to help children and their families navigate these challenges.

Advocating for change: Pushing for policies that protect children from weight-based discrimination.
