It has been heartbreaking to see the lives lost during Hurricane Helene as it devastated North Carolina this weekend.

I’m grateful that President Biden has granted a major disaster declaration for North Carolina to get needed resources to people in Western North Carolina. This is a huge step in ensuring our community can recover from Hurricane Helene.

In addition, we must support our local organizations who are helping North Carolinians recover as we speak. The North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund is accepting contributions to help survivors of hurricane damage meet their needs.

I strongly encourage you to support their hurricane relief efforts by donating to their fund or telling your friends and family about this support system.
