At [AFSP]([link removed]), our mission is to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.

In our email earlier today, there was an error concerning tonight's Audacy event. You can tune into the radio show starting at 8 p.m. EDT. Find more details below and on [Eventbrite.]([link removed])

[National Suicide Prevention Month]([link removed]) is coming to a close –– but there is still so much to be done, and you can help. In recognition of this important month and our ongoing work in the fight to stop suicide, we're asking you to Walk With Us by finding an [Out of the Darkness Community Walk]([link removed]) in your area, or by [donating directly]([link removed]) to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to help us continue our mission.

Our Community Walks shed light on mental health and bring hope to those affected by suicide. By participating in a Community Walk in your area, you help fund new and important areas of scientific research, advocacy and public policy efforts, suicide prevention education programs, and support for survivors of suicide loss. Your impact is powerful.

Take Action for Suicide Prevention

In addition to joining an Out of the Darkness Community Walk, or making a direct donation to help fund our suicide prevention advocacy, you can also get involved through any (or all!) of the following actions:

- [Register]([link removed]) for tonight's event! September 30 at 8 p.m. local time, tune in for Audacy's I'm Listening radio show. Join AFSP Senior Vice President of Research Dr. Jill Harkavy-Friedman for a conversation on youth suicide prevention measures, when to worry, and what to do. Hosted by the Wellness Institute.

- [Sign up to become a Volunteer Advocate]([link removed]) for suicide prevention, and join a vital network of grassroots advocacy that gives you the resources and tools to speak out for suicide prevention and mental health at all levels of government.

- Request one of our [lifesaving education programs]([link removed]) –– like Talk Saves Lives, It's Real, and More Than Sad –– by contacting your local chapter at [afsp.org/chapters]([link removed]). AFSP also has a number of upcoming presentations already on the calendar, which you can register to attend at [afsp.org/calendar]([link removed]).

- This year, International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day will take place Saturday, November 23, 2024. Also known as Survivor Day, this annual observance allows survivors of suicide loss to come together for connection, understanding, and hope. We encourage you to register for a Survivor Day [event near you]([link removed]).

- Learn more about suicide and how to help prevent it by reading our [top-ten list]([link removed]) of things we've learned from research.
