The National Eagle Forum recently concluded its 52nd Leadership Training conference, Eagle Council 52, an event that celebrated the enduring legacy of its founder, Phyllis Schlafly, along with Eagle Forum’s continued efforts to shape the conservative agenda. Held in St. Louis, Missouri, the gathering brought together an impressive lineup of thought leaders, legal experts, and grassroots activists, all focused on tackling the most pressing issues facing the country today.
This year’s Eagle Council was particularly momentous, as attendees celebrated what would have been the 100th birthday of Phyllis Schlafly, the iconic founder of the Eagle Forum. A special commemoration was held in her honor, highlighting her unwavering dedication to defending family values, limited government, and traditional American principles throughout her life.
Stellar Speakers & Actionable Insights
The three-day event featured a diverse range of speakers, including Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, conservative media icon Glenn Beck, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, international journalist Alex Newman, and Anne Schlafly Carpenter, daughter of Phyllis Schlafly and Chairman of Eagle Forum. Each speaker provided deep insights and actionable strategies for fighting against big government, protecting the family unit, and maintaining constitutional freedoms.
Steve Marshall, the Attorney General of Alabama, captivated the crowd with a report on the various ways states are acting to protect women and girls. Andrew Bailey, Missouri’s Attorney General, spoke to "How to Protect Your State from Federal Overreach."
Tania Beck, the wife of Glenn Beck, was also honored with the 2024 Full-Time Homemaker Award, which celebrates the critical role of mothers in shaping future generations. After her heartfelt remarks on the importance of motherhood, her husband delivered a stirring defense of traditional family values, urging Americans to stand firm against cultural attacks.
Other key speakers included Dr. Peter McCullough, a leading cardiologist, who addressed medical freedom in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Margaret Byfield, Executive Director of American Stewards for Liberty, who explained the ongoing assault on private land rights by radical environmental policies. Mark Morgan, former acting Director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and acting Commissioner of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) gave an impassioned update on the border crisis caused by the Biden-Harris Administration.
Celebrating Phyllis Schlafly’s 100th Birthday
A key highlight of Eagle Council 52 was the celebration of Phyllis Schlafly’s 100th birthday. Anne Schlafly Carpenter led a heartfelt tribute to her mother’s remarkable achievements, emphasizing Phyllis’s role as a pioneer in grassroots activism and a defender of the traditional American family. The event served as a reminder that the principles Phyllis Schlafly championed—faith, family, and freedom—are as vital today as ever.
Action Plans for 2024 and Beyond
Eagle Council 52 wasn’t just about reflection of the past — but action for the future. Speakers equipped attendees with practical tools to take back to their home states to advocate for parental rights, against DEI and CRT in the military, and to counter the radicalization of education in America’s schools and universities.
Eagle Forum also announced its plan to continue defending religious liberties, protecting life, and safeguarding national sovereignty. Whether it's opposing gambling or advocating for landowner rights, Eagle Forum remains committed to its mission of preserving American freedoms. As the Eagle Forum looks toward 2025, it remains steadfast in its mission to uphold Phyllis Schlafly’s vision: a country where liberty, faith, and the family come first.
