Friends,

While the COVID-19 crisis rages, we at 350 Mass and our allies in the movement for climate justice know that while we act in solidarity with those on the front-lines now, we must continue the fight to prevent the coming climate catastrophe.

You may have heard about the new study from Washington State University that's adding terrifying detail to our crisis. It found that, if greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise, about 30% of people "will live in places with an average temperature above 29°C (84.2°F) within 50 years." It's unimaginable.

The pandemic has shown us the disastrous consequences of government inaction and misinformation. It's also teaching us that we have untapped wells of strength and bravery. We must strengthen our connections with people and organizations focused on all aspects of our collective fight for survival and justice.

Every day, I'm more and more grateful for the 350 Mass community. See below for opportunities to take action and join a node meeting or a working group. Let's forge a path toward a just and sustainable future together.

In solidarity,
Alan Palm
Director of Organizing

Week of Action to Stop the Weymouth Compressor Station

Despite the pandemic and the looming threat to our climate, the Weymouth Compressor Station is still under construction. Allies of FRRACS (Fore River Residents Against the Compressor Station) have launched a week of action to shut down construction of the station during the pandemic. They're calling on a different agency every day of the week to build pressure against the compressor station. To take part, see the list of actions here!
